The machine, live
Connecting to the simulator…
Each cell shows its real temperature in the simulator, coloured against the panel's median (blue cooler, red hotter). The tan film is dust and the white patch is a bird dropping, both placed by the simulator. The four sun dots are the corner light sensors; they turn blue when the light is uneven.
The electronics
Everything the ESP32 reads goes through two multiplexers into one 16-bit ADC, so the ESP32's own noisy ADC is never used. Sensors on the 5 V rail switch off while it sleeps.
What the ESP32 is running
Power:
- Node draws now
- –
- Node used today
- –
- If it never slept
- –
- Washing recovered
- –
Today so far, all panels. "Recovered" is the simulator's ground truth; a real install estimates it from power before and after each wash.
What the ESP32 reads right now
Every analog input goes through the ADS1115. Counts are the raw 16-bit answer, and the last column is what the firmware turns them into.
